Dear Leader: Want to make your business more profitable? Knit ethical behavior – values based leadership – into the very fabric of your company culture.

Do that, and your employees will be more engaged, so they’ll give you their all. Do that, and you’ll attract higher-caliber talent at hiring time. Do that, and your customers will feel better about buying from you; they’ll chose you over your competitors even if your price is a bit higher or your produce a bit less robust. Most importantly, do it for yourself: because deep down inside, you will feel better about yourself and you’ll enjoy work more.

Bring your soul to work. Insist that everyone else do so as well. After all, you’re one complete person on the inside. Isn’t it time we stopped acting to the rest of the world like we’re a lesser person than we are?
